With the need for sustainable energy solutions, the use of wave and sea movement to generate energy is a growing market. Currently, mooring buoys are floating structures which are used to moor vessels deep water or shallow water to the seabed. With the combination of mooring buoys and energy potential from the sea, mooring buoys can be converted into energy generating mooring buoys. However, Present mooring systems and design specifications cannot completely fulfil the demands of the offshore wave energy conversion.
