Digitalisation is a key driving factor ensuring for a growing world economy. The Port of Rotterdam has outlined that the digitalisation of the port is a top 5 objective for the coming years, however it is a complex transformation to realise.

For this reason, this challenge has been simplified into four categories in which digitalisation can be achieved, namely:

1. Automation of business processes and information management
2. Automation of land, sea and air transport
3. Integrated computer systems to support all supply chains
4. Integrated processes from port to hinterland services
