Offshore Wind: Mitigate underwater pile driving noise
In offshore wind challenges surrounding pile driving have arisen. The challenge to measure soil density changes close to a driven pile leads to larger, noisier and more expensive piles being used – to the detriment of the environment. The underwater noise is also being increasingly regulated as it affects marine fauna and current noise-cancelling methods are cumbersome and expensive.
Transitioning from offshore to onshore, energy storage is an important topic, with new battery solutions highly sought after, with the goal to decrease the levelized cost of energy.
With rising seas, enhancing flood defence solutions is an important topic – we are looking for breakthrough solutions to stabilize dikes or adapt dike heights in a flexible way.
